Motherdisco Feb. 2026
Shortly after loosing my Instagram account, literally 3 days after, I went to capture Motherdisco at Brooklyn Steel. I wasn’t hired this time but I knew what I needed more than anything was to be in community, and still capturing it.
I quickly realized how much of my life and friendships lived on that stupid app and how heartbreaking that has become for so many of us. We all know that social media isn’t great for us. But how confident are you that you will be ready to fly again after you’ve been pushed out of the nest?
One of the most frustrating things about loosing my Instagram was people, friends and even strangers, coming up to me and assuming I blocked them. I got this all night at Motherdisco and realized this is a conversation I’m going to have to deal with for months.
And then comes the “thats so crazy!” “are you going to get it back?” “I know a friend who…”
After those conversations passed, and everyone got back to their friends and the music, I settled into my camera, through the viewfinder, and captured some of the most beautiful nightlife photos I think I’ve ever captured. I found peace in my circumstances if not just for that evening.
